Artslam day 59, 60

Last Artslam post. Of course, that doesn't mean I won't be posting sketches anymore! ^^

These three are totally BFFs. (or at least, I'm setting them up to be. eventually.) Even if Tora and Inu do hate each other's guts.

Some fun doodling of the characters in some casual wear. What's Usagi, Tatsu, Neko and Hitsuji doing in the same shot? I don't know...

Every series needs a High School AU right?!

Artslam day 54-58

Somewhat incomplete sketch of Tatsu. Almost contemplating giving him wings, since I've been drawing so much Aion fanart lately, but on second thought I don't think flying characters suits my story...

Quick fill of the Pixiv expression meme to practice, as I've spent the past week drawing mostly Aion stuff. @_@;
top row: blank, smiling, enraged, sad
second row: crying, bashful, impatient, surprised
third row: submissive, dominant, with something they like, with something they hate

Preliminary sketch of Tora and Inu's fight that never got used. Oh well...

These two again...

One week to go!

Artslam day 42-51

With this post, it seems I've mostly caught up. Saved by the sketchbook! Sketch dump ahead!

Practicing some action poses for Saru for the big fight scene in chapter 3.

Yet another potential comic cover/splash/promo image thing. It goes a bit longer, but I screwed up Uma's legs.

I seem to draw these two together a lot, hmm... They are the main characters though, so I guess it's warranted...

Usagi attacking with her funky flute thing. I have no idea what it means when martial arts people hold their hand like that, but it sure as hell looks cool.

Ushi betrays Neko?? Who knows? Even I don't...

I don't draw Buta very much, huh? Poor guy.

Alternate rendition of Inu's hair.

I've been listening to Nico singers all day, and sketching out two epic Vocaloid PV/Aion pictures, so I couldn't help but do this too. I don't really know where I was going with it... but I guess it was a convenient excuse to try out lineless colouring.

Artslam day 39-41

Apologies once again for the lack of updates, been away from the pc for personal reasons. Two more weeks left for artslam! *panics*

Anyway, someone requested more info on Saru and Nezumi over on FurAffinity, for a trade, so I thought I'd take this opportunity to post some info on them.

Name: Saru (猴)
Zodiac position: 9th

Saru is a bit of a diva. He loves showing off, and often has the confidence to back it up. All the partners he has chosen so far are either already famous, or have gone on to become famous after the Battle.

He fights with incredible martial skill, and when needed, pulls out his staff for added power. He is very agile and good at dodging physical attacks.

Name: Nezumi ()
Zodiac position: 1st

The tenacious first animal of the Zodiac, Nezumi's charismatic nature makes him well liked by everyone. He is usually carefree and laid back, but when push comes to shove, he can execute a mean uppercut.

His main weapons are two short daggers. Like Saru, he is nimble and quick to dodge oncoming attacks. As his daggers do not inflict much damage, he moves around the opponent to make them injure themselves.

Random Tatsu in dragon form?!

Artslam day 37, 38

Future cover perhaps?

This guy is insanely fun to draw.

Artslam - 2x Tora

Artslam - 3 sketches

Funnily enough I drew this before watching Red Cliff. It is an awesomely GAR movie about the Three Kingdoms history.

Have an obligatory onsen/hot spring image.

Sketches for a future character, Wujing. He'll be one of the commentators for when the Battle starts.

Artslam - something random and fun

Artslam collective update

Once again, my host has run into some update problems, and I've been unable to update this blog for the past two weeks. For that, I sincerely apologise to those who have been coming back here for my daily sketch updates. I've gotten the problem sorted out for now, hopefully this will be the last. For now, I've switched over to Blogger hosting for the time being.

Anyway, have some backlogged sketches. I'll be posting them all in separate posts as per my posts on Artslam itself.

This is Lee. (I haven't figured out her first name yet, bear with me) She is Inu's partner, and skilled at martial arts. Inu's personality type is such that he will only choose a partner that is strong both mentally and physically.

The belt she is wearing is a gift from her great-grandfather. Three decades ago he too had been chosen to take part in this zodiac shenanigans. No one believed him, of course, but of everyone he told the stories to, she was always hanging on to his every word. As she grew older she began to doubt her grandfather's stories, but then Inu appeared and the rest is, as they say, history.

(so yeah, I suppose you could say this zodiac thing kind of runs in her family. which was my plan for this character from the beginning, so yay. I kind of made up that belt thing as I was drawing this, haha)

as for the character, she is sort of a cross between one of my old tomboyish female characters (or rather, my friend's) and Ruki from Digimon Tamers. in that respect, also, Inu's trait of wanting a strong partner is taken from Ruki's desire to only have a strong Digimon. go me. |D

also wow, first picture I've drawn of her actually looking like a girl. woot.
